What is CO2?
Just as oxygen is for humans, carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the most important components that plants need. All plants need CO2 to grow. If a plant cannot get enough CO2 from the air, the plant will grow more slowly and achieve poor yield. The CO2 bag is an efficient and inexpensive way to add extra CO2 to the air around the plants.
When and where to use the CO2 bag?
It is recommended to start using the CO2 bag 2-3 weeks after the seeds have been planted. Make 6 holes in the top of the bag and hang it above the plants. The CO2 bag produces CO2 in temperatures above 18 ºC. When storing, store the bag in a dry and cool place at temperatures below 18 ºC.
How long does the CO2 bag last?
When holes are made in the CO2 bag and the contents come in contact with oxygen, it will start producing CO2 within a few days. Depending on the air circulation, a CO2 bag will produce enough CO2 for a growing room or growtent of up to 5m2 for 1-3 months.
How do I take advantage of more CO2?
With the extra content of CO2, the plants can handle temperatures that are up to 3-5 ºC higher than normal. With the higher growth, the plants will be able to absorb more water and fertilizer, and be able to utilize stronger light, which overall will give the plants even better growth.
